Sebastien Bourdais expressed doubts about Cadillac’s chances for a top-five finish at the Le Mans 24 Hours, despite starting 1-2 on the grid in qualifying. Cadillac Jota dominated the Hyperpole sessions, with Jack Aitken and Bourdais leading the first session and Alex Lynn securing pole position. Bourdais voiced concerns about rivals potentially sandbagging and the impact of Balance of Performance regulations on their performance. He lamented the importance of top speed at Le Mans and criticized competitors for not allowing a fair chance for Cadillac to compete. Despite decent long-run pace in practice, Cadillac’s top speed lagged behind Porsche and Ferrari in Hyperpole 2. Bourdais also expressed skepticism over the unexpected grid positions of Ferrari and Toyota, feeling they may be undermining their competition. Ultimately, he remains cautious about Cadillac’s prospects in the race, acknowledging the challenges against strong competitors.
